During my internship at H2M Architects and Engineers, I undertook a project to redesign an outdoor staircase for a private residence to enhance accessibility. I visited the site to conduct field measurements and engaged in discussions with both the homeowner and a representative from the Town of Hempstead to understand their requirements. The redesign involved incorporating a lift and reconfiguring the staircase to create a new layout. The client requested that both the ramp and staircase extend past the house and into the driveway. I collaborated closely with the client to ensure the final design met their specific needs and preferences.
